Bill of Material (BOM)

Any cloud manufacturing software starts with a bill of material (BOM), and a precise and well-defined BOM guarantees accuracy and resilience. In ERPNext, the finished product is at the top of a hierarchical BOM. Product codes, part descriptions, amounts, prices, and further specs are also included.

Shop Floor Management

ERPNext allows you to automatically record everyday events on your shop floor with its capabilities for job cards, operations, and workstations. On a single screen, you can see the current state of each work order’s manufacturing process, staff assignments, the location of each workstation, and the actions still to be completed.

Subcontracting

Does your company use suppliers to handle some of its processes? Examine ERPNext’s subcontracting capability. It makes it simple to track the labour and operations of suppliers and to supply raw supplies. The price of purchased services and raw materials is used to determine the worth of finished items.

Item Variants

Let’s say you manufacture t-shirts in several colours and sizes. Every kind of t-shirt and its variations, sometimes referred to as item variants, must be tracked. ERPNext stores each of the variations as an item variant and the main item as an item template. For every item variant, you can store any attribute, including colour and form.

Batched inventory

The integrated inventory feature of ERPNext makes handling batched items easy. The manufacturing and expiration dates of each batch, along with other details, are preserved in its real-time picture of product availability. Even better, you can use the camera on your iPhone to scan barcodes on items to do fast stock searches and make informed judgements.

Serialized Inventory

Units can be uniquely identified by their serial numbers. ERPNext will automatically generate serial numbers for new stock if you set up naming series. You can also use the camera on your iPhone to easily scan item barcodes and search through all of your inventory.

Material Resource Planning

ERPNext will display every facet of your MRP, including material requests and work orders versus sales. To reduce costs and ensure that no resources are wasted, keep track of the material consumption of serialised or batched inventories.

Capacity Planning

Based on the resources available for open production orders, optimise your workstations. Make a capacity plan to locate and remove bottlenecks at the shop floor level. Additionally, you have the ability to keep and oversee planning schedules for a set amount of time (30 days, 45 days, etc.).

Multiple units of measure

Systems shouldn’t be allowed to prevent you from measuring materials just how you desire! Ensure that you maintain track of various measurement units for your inventory. Establish conversion factors within the item master to enable seamless transactions for purchases, sales, and stock. The system will manage all conversions.

Stock Replenishment

Keep an eye on an item’s reorder level to avoid stockouts. ERPNext will initiate the creation of a material request automatically if the stock level falls below the reorder level. By doing this, you can lessen the likelihood of stock exhaustion and replenish inventory at the ideal moment.

Real-time personalisation

Make your own ERP software for cloud manufacturing. Map the most crucial information in your forms by including custom fields. Without writing a single line of code, you may alter the behaviour of forms by auto-fetching values, hiding fields according to user roles, and creating unique print formats.
